The first of the CLASSIC CAR AUCTIONS of Julius Hügler, a special highlight of the 2019 summer season, took place on May 31 and June 1, in the environs of the Lower-Austrian dream castle Gutenstein of the noble Hoyos family. It was the perfect setting for the two-day automobile show with subsequent auction, welcomingly organized by the two event and PR specialists Illy Hoyos and Lieschen Saint Julien-Wallsee. Over 300 automobile enthusiasts, including numerous celebrities and recognized collectors of classic cars, enjoyed the festivities and beautiful weather surrounding this magnificent 17th century building. A relaxed lounge sound, fine cuisine and excellent wines from the winery BRÜNDLMAYER rounded off the event.
An exquisite selection of rare and classic vehicles from different eras and price ranges awaited the visitors – among them dream vehicles by the brand Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Ferrari, Jaguar, Maserati, Mercedes Benz, Rolls-Royce and Porsche. A gloriously luxurious Mercedes-Benz 320 D Convertible manufactured in 1938 by the former best and most expensive coachbuilder in Germany, Erdmann & Rossi, was one of the highlights.
As the high point of the event, 46 Classic Cars were offered for sale in the auction conducted by host and initiator Franziskus Kriegs-Au in the beautiful setting of the castle’s ivy-covered courtyard. A Bentley Arnage Green Label, a Porsche 911 Carrera Convertible and various other impressive automobiles as well as the painting “Permanente” by the world-renowned young artist and Nitsch pupil Philip Mueller were auctioned at top prices.
